Time has come

to lower the Mustangs ET over the qmile. Had the chance to buy a new Paxton Novi 1000 for reasonable money. Reason for Paxton was prize, minimum modifications, positive oiling, passenger side mount, developed from the McCulloch design, longterm history. The Novi 1000 is the smallest of the Paxtonchargers with 5-6psi boost in standard configuration, but capable of 950cfm thats up to 550hp with different drive ratios. The manufacturer promisses powergains up to 30% with 5-6psi boost levels. That should bring the Pony up to 290hp. Who knows? G-Tech and AP-22 will tell the real numbers.

Disappointing

Testing the 90 Mustang 5.0 GT over the quartermile was a little disappointing. No chance to get close to high 14's (Car&Driver times then) with wintertires and 105k miles odometer reading. Even with 2.73 rearend gearing on concrete there was wheelspin. By the way it was a good chance to figure out the measurement differences between the AP22 Performance Meter and a G-Tech Pro. Here are the timeslips for the same single run. Both devices were set for streetcar, but I forgot to adjust for same rollout so its not a perfect comparison. The Horsepower printout is not relevant, because its generated by the 1-2 gearchange. Horsepower measurements can only be done in a single gear.
